Gabrielle (Gaby) Long is a driving force in the local food scene and the visionary behind Taste of Bim and The Grind Cafe. Over the past nine years, Gaby has become a well-known figure in Humboldt County, known for her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to creating opportunities for others.

Her latest venture, The Tasty Hub, is a game-changer for the local food industry. Located in Eureka, this facility serves as a manufacturing hub for her businesses while providing affordable kitchen space, equipment, and resources for other business owners. With a growing list of clients, The Tasty Hub is already making a big impact in supporting start-ups, especially those led by BIPOC and female entrepreneurs.

North Edge is proud to have supported Gaby throughout her journey. Through a series of loans in partnership with the Headwaters Fund, we helped her navigate the challenges of acquiring and renovating the historic building (previously known as The Old Chalet) that now houses The Tasty Hub. Support with financing also enabled her to manage unexpected costs and delays, ensuring her vision for the space became a reality.

Gaby’s goals for The Tasty Hub extend far beyond her own businesses. The facility is building partnerships with local farmers and producers to source fresh, locally grown ingredients, strengthening the local food system while supporting sustainable agriculture. In turn, these partnerships give farmers and producers a platform to showcase and sell their products to a wider audience.

The Tasty Hub will also host events and workshops focused on culinary education and sustainable food practices. These gatherings offer cooking demonstrations, hands-on activities, and valuable resources for community members.

For Gaby, The Tasty Hub represents her first step toward building generational wealth and fostering a supportive community for local entrepreneurs. She’s also partnered with the nonprofit Pathways of Purpose to develop programs supporting underserved youth through vocational training, food education, and life skills.

Gaby’s passion continues to inspire us, and we’re honored to be part of her story. Congratulations, Gaby, on this incredible milestone!

The Tasty Hub is now accepting applications to rent their commercial kitchen and commissary! Head over to the hum-tastyhub.com to learn more!
