Day 1 of the summit is all about building the foundation for an economy that reflects our region’s challenges and opportunities while paving the way for growth and innovation.

Bode Gower will share insights on how youth can be included in policy-making, a key driver for the future of the region.
10:15 am – Keynote: Anthony Pipa
Explore ways to reimagine rural policy, with a focus on creating supportive environments for economic and workforce growth.
1:30 pm – Senate President Pro Tempore Mike McGuire
Don’t miss this session with Senator McGuire, who will discuss how legislative efforts can support regional economic development.
Zoo Networking Reception – Meet Up, Not on Zoom!
After a productive first day of the summit, join us at the Sequoia Park Zoo for the Summit Reception from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to network while enjoying local food and drinks.
Appetizers will be provided by the zoo’s Evergreen Eatery.
Humboldt County craft beer from Redwood Curtain Brewing Company and wine from Fieldbrook Winery will be available.
Attendees can also explore the Redwood Skywalk, the longest skywalk in the western United States, with free access during the event.
